What Will it Look Like?
Everyone asks that question! Actually, the proposed plan has undergone some changes from the original design. Taking many things such as location, climate, culture, and village requirements into consideration, we are now looking at a two-story building that will serve as a sanctuary on the first level and have enough room in the basement for a social hall and kitchen, plus it could be used as a classroom area. Click on the link "Drawings of Design" to see drawings of the plans for the exterior of the church.
For an estimated cost of a little over $2 million, we will have approximately 10,000 square feet and we expect to seat 300 people at Mass. The Mission will face to northwest on the compass, and a large window above the altar will feature a view of Our Lord’s tallest peak in New Mexico, the nearby Mr. Wheeler at 13,161’ above sea level.
The exterior will have an "Alpine” look, consistent with design rules enforced by the Village of Angel Fire. If you have any comments or questions, please email Tom Germsheid at tomgermscheid@yahoo.com.
