OUR FUND-RAISING EVENTS
Our Angel Fire Catholic Community has been extremely busy since we were given the green light to begin raising money for a new church. We have organized many fund-raisers that have helped us with our campaign and also provided fun and diversion to the entire community. We have placed some pictures and stories of these events in this website. We plan many more events in the future and will be listing them on the website to keep you informed.

FIRST ANNUAL HOLY ANGELS GOLF TOURNAMENT WAS LOVED BY ALL!
Our first golf tournament held on August 27th, 2011, at the Angel Fire Golf Course was a great success with nature first off providing a beautiful day in Northern New Mexico! We had a total of 51 golfers enter the tournament and they all had smiles on their faces as they picked up their scrumptious breakfast burritos and set out to play their game. The luncheon was delicious and set in a beautiful outdoor setting on the patio of the Angel Fire Country Club.
About $6000.00 was raised and added to the Building Fund. Thanks to all who participated by helping plan the tournament and those who worked all day at the golf course, the Angel Fire Golf Course employees for being so pleasant and helpful, to the players for entering our tournament and of course to all the wonderful sponsors and businesses that donated either money or auction items. Special thanks to Father Culotta, who unselfishly gave his time to help the entire day!
We plan to make this a yearly event, so if you weren't able to make it this year, please keep it in mind for next year. We promise it will be bigger and better!
THANKS TO ALL OF YOU IT WAS A SUCCESS!

THIRD ANNUAL DINNER, DANCE & AUCTION A HUGE SUCCESS!
The Holy Angels Third Annual Rock n' Roll FUNdraiser held on July 3, 2011 was a huge success! Everyone had a great time and we raised about $9,000.00 towards building our church. In fact, we are at the $500,000. level now - half-way there until we can began to break ground! Take a look at the following pictures where friends were having fun, helping serve and setting up auction items. The food was delicious and the music featuring oldies was great as ever. Tom and Cindy Germsheid were voted best patriotic costume by our judges. See you at next year's function!
Everyone Enjoyed Boot Scoot'n
The Boot Scoot'n BBQ and Barn Dance was held on January 29, 2010, and everyone that attended had a great time!
This year we it was held at the Angel Fire Community Center with music by Kim and the Caballeros, the same group from Taos that we had last year. They outdid themselves again, with many old favorites and some new ones also. The food, brisket, coleslaw and potato salad, roll and dessert was delicious. As soon as the pictures come in, we'll post them for you to see. Thank you to everyone who supported us, both by attending the dinner/dance and also all the hard-working individuals that helped with the many jobs involved. We always need planners, cooks, people to set up the place, serve the food and of course clean up afterwards.
Congratulations, Marian Martinez for winning the door prize, a $50.00 gift certificate to an Angel Fire restaurant and Sally Torres, who won the raffle of a week to a Westin Resort!!

MICHAEL MARTIN MURPHEY IN CONCERT
One of the best concerts held in Angel Fire this year! Michael Martin Murphey always performs at his very best when he steps on that stage. Holy Angels was proud to again present this concert to our community on September 3rd (2010) at the Angel Fire Community Center. The show was again a great success, take a look at some of the pictures taken that night as Michael greeted the crowd and at the end of the event became so excited about our efforts to build a church that he decided (on his own) to "raise some money the old-fashioned Baptist way" - Michael's own words! - and passed his hat around, collecting a big chunk of money for our building fund!! Hooray for Michael! The pictures below show him singing and also passing the hat around. It was a great "FUNdraiser" for all!!
Casino Night Brings 'em All Out in Rain!
Despite a rainy night, our first ever Holy Angels Casino Night was fun for all. The tables were full all night and the shouts from the Craps tables probably shook the house!! The raffles were fun as everyone watched their (many) tickets and kept their fingers crossed hoping to win. Thanks to all who attended and to the many wonderful donors who donated the great prizes.
1960's Dinner, Dance & Auction Fun for All
Our second annual Dinner, Dance & Auction on June 26, 2010, was a success again! Everyone showed up with their 1960's attire, including psychedelic, hippie and other fun costumes. We had absolutely wonderful auction items and the music by TIme Machine was rocking!

Second Annual Boot Scoot'n a Success Again!

Kim and her Horse
Kim and the Caballeros (minus the horse) thrilled the crowd with their fabulous music for Holy Angels' second annual Boot Scoot'n Barn Dance and BBQ held on January 29, 2010. In spite of snow that week and cold weather, everyone had a great time. The barbeque was delicious and best of all, we raised more money for the building fund. Check our website for information about our next fund-raiser! Don't be left out of the fun or a chance to help build our church.

Kim without the Caballeros
Kim and the Caballeros are from Taos and do amazing renditions of some of the old "honky-tonk" music that some of us grew up with. They're also adept at some Blue Grass and newer Country-Western songs. The dance floor was hopping the entire night. We hope to see them again in the future at some of our functions.
1950'S DINNER & DANCE
The poodle skirts & bobbi socks were definitely visible and it WAS a fantastic '50's style dance and spaghetti dinner, along with live and silent auctions on June 20th, 2009. The Time Machine from Taos performed live music (all oldies). The "Holy Angels Bee-Boppers" led by Diane Peterson, our local dance instructor, entertained the crowd of approximately 250 - 275 with a dance to "We Go Together" a song from the movie Grease. The night was a HUGE success, both in raising some much-needed cash for the Holy Angels Building Fund and also as a community get-together with many positive comments still coming in!
Look for this fun activity again in 2010!!
Some of the auction items donated included a beautiful custom-made rustic bedroom set (eight pieces in all) built and donated by Keith and Lorraine Narmi (see picture below) and a like-new 1999 Arctic Cat 440 CC snowmobile, donated by Mike and Jeannie Spruell and a nice saddle donated by Tom Germsheid. One lucky person won the saddle that will make any cowboy or cowgirl very proud. Other items donated included jewelry, art work, landscape materials, and many other items donated by our generous community. Thank you to all who helped.

Holy Angels Bee-Boppers
The Holy Angels Beeboppers strutting their stuff! Give lots of credit to Diane Peterson, Dance Instructor, for choreographing and conducting this number. I guess you can teach "old dogs" new tricks!! We all loved working with Diane and it was fun (and a lot of hard work) to learn "We Go Together" but we did it and the crowd seemed to enjoy it also.
Costume Contest First Place Winners!!
If you remember soda shops in the 50's you know this is as authentic as they come! Jim and Barbara Jean Veirs looked like they were ready to slap the burgers on the grill and serve the milk shakes! Congratulations to you for your originality. Sitting with Barbara Jean and Jim is Art Mackie, he and Fannie won third place for the costume contest.
